heating element as hot tub heater

Question:
Why not look at natural gas or propane heaters for hot tubs? They will >heat the water much faster, much safer, and allow you to keep the >water heated as needed while you're using it.

>Also, natural gas or propane heaters should be cheaper to use.

Answer:
Can't afford one of Catmobile's hot tub RVs yet. :-) A regular hot tub, even a 'portable' SoftTub kind, would be a bit much to carry in the pickup bed, and any kind of separate heater would probably jolt loose. Or are the heaters you're thinking of submersible, so I could put them in some other sort of container of water

I'm thinking of a big plastic storage container or giant ice chest or something: use it for storage en route, then fill it with water at each campsite.
