Question:
I only have a shower
stall in my apartment. Any suggestions about how to get around that issue? And conversely, anyone have any ideas where I can get my hands on a
>portable bathtub like the canvas one in that MASH episode?
Answer:
Gryph looks up. "You could prepare a soak of the herbs in a bowl, then pour
them over yourself before you turn on the shower. I know it sounds silly,
but it works to some extent." Spas do a thing where they spread a moist paste of -whatever- allover
on you, then wrap you up in saran wrap or some other covering for
about a half hour. Then they pressure wash/ shower you intensely
(hydrotherapy - ithink it's called).
I've had it done with a mild seaweed/oatmeal type paste thing made by
aveda (AFAIK). It can be done with other herbs and /or essential
oils DILUTED in a carrier oil such as almond or sesame. (Essential
oils applied directly to skin undiluted can and have caused severe
reactions in some people-- I wish I could remember more aromatherapy
to give a better caution, but it's late.) I would err on the side of
caution & gentleness, pehaps using commercial mixes like the aveda spa
mix to experiment with at first. Maybe a beauty supply store would
stock it.
My experience on seasalt encrusting/wrapping or herbal/seaweed
wrapping is that it is not as vibrationally effective as a bath is.
However, if you have the choice between some help and no help...
BTW, FWIW, Crystal Star makes a really nice *hot* seaweed bath mix
that is the best skin detox I've ever been through. It is intense
though, and not for every one. (I always wind up feeling like I need
to drink a gallon or two of water after to support the clearing it
brings on) Maybe that heated and blendered to paste would work?
Or maybe just go to a day spa and try their version first?
Also Gurudas- in his books on gem essences, talks about rigging a
cloth bag holding crystals over the shower head and getting some
vibrational benefit that way.
You're on your own with creating a temporary hot tub for one. I
haven't a clue where to go with that. Try talking to plumbing
specialty stores -is my first idea.
