Question:
Can anyone out there offer any additional ideas or advice pertaining
to this particular installation? Any assistance would be greatly
appreciated?
Answer:
the first thing I would do is check with the City/State/pool inspector
to see if a pushbutton lock is permissible- you never can tell about
those inspectors- personally I would not like a lever on the inside-
does the word lasso bring any ideas to mind? Now how about the
chlorine reacting to the lock- I sure would want to know how "wet"
hands on the lock would effect it over time-
my policy on pool gates is: (standard gate locks). I warrant that on
the day that I install it- it works. that's it. If it works when I
leave everything else is abuse!! I will not come back and FIX it
without a return service call, this is especially true if there is no
door closer- and a latch. as far as the metal box goes, I give the
"kids" at the college machine/welding shop a chance to show there
stuff- and they always do a good job, after the box is made any welder
can finish the job.
looking for a lock of some sort for a pool gate that is
access control. It for a retirement village that has 4 pool gates
around
the perimeter. Some of the residents have now worked out how to open
the
pool gate latches & they are looking for some sort of digital system.
Even
if I go to electronic for the keypad side, I still can't find a lock
to fit
the narrow style of the standard pool fence.
